Do you have a chipped, discolored, or irregularly shaped tooth? Then our dental crown service might be the solution for you. If you’re considering getting a dental crown, we’d love to help you decide.

Dental Tooth Crown Procedure

The first step of the dental crown procedure is to examine the affected tooth, its root, and the surrounding teeth. If the tooth is deemed healthy enough to support a crown, it will be shaped to fit the crown properly. Impressions will be taken and sent to our in-house lab to create your customized crown. While your permanent crown is being made, we will place a temporary crown to protect the tooth. After completion, we will replace the temporary crown with the permanent crown.

A variety of materials may be used to create a dental crown. The most common are metals, ceramic, porcelain, or some combination of these materials. Dental crowns made of all porcelain or all ceramic typically provide the most natural-looking appearance.

With proper care, dental crowns can last up to 15 years. The lifespan of your dental crown is dependent upon your dental hygiene, diet, and any habits you may have that involve your teeth. Avoid habits such as opening items with your teeth, biting your fingernails, and consider wearing a mouthguard at night if you grind your teeth.
