Prominent Point is a residential neighborhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded by Sarcee Trail to the east and north, Bow Trail to the south, 69 Street to the west and Old Banff Coach Road to the south. Edworthy Park, developed in the Bow River valley, borders the community to the north and east.
The neighborhood was originally known as Broadcast Hill, for the 250 m (820 ft) CFCN re-transmission tower located here. It was renamed Patterson Heights in 1983, and then Prominence Point in 2015.
Prominent Point is a desirable neighborhood due to its proximity to downtown Calgary, its excellent views of the city and the surrounding mountains, and its abundance of green space.
