Partial or Full Restorations
Fillings, Inlays and Onlays are examples of Partial Restorations made out of Resin material, Reinforced Resin material, Porcelain and even Gold. Full coverage Restorations are typically made using Porcelain Fused to Metal, full core Zirconia or even Gold. All of these restorations are bonded to the tooth structures to provide longevity. Lately, there has been a tendency to NOT use metals for restorations, and so “gold” is out of favor.
The dentist completes a visual analysis of the relationship among the anterior teeth and the rest of the face and head of the presenting patient. Although we can utilize some “Objective and Topological” norms that lead to a beautiful smile, an overall feel of the smile using subjective parameters is also important customized for each patient.
Replacement of some or all of the tooth material with man-made porcelain (glass-like) material. This material can be sculpted to give life like aesthetic end results and is generally bonded to the existing tooth to give it strength.
